03S78. HCJC.
27 of us make up the lovely class of 03S78 :)
it was a year and 6 mths ago that we graduated from hwachong, nothing much has
changed since then - we still have the good old class outings when we spend most
of the time walking around (+ extended one in europe recently), we still play
mahjong, watch movies, go æçå¦! together (at nwxiang's request of course)..
to many more years of friendship!

Backpacking 06: Berlin 2
24th may (Wed) Berlin

| The 1st half of the day was spent taking this Free Berlin tour which turned out to be great! The tour guide came across as being genuinely passionate about the city, not to mention knowledgeable. Through him we were introduced to a charming city with its bustling city center and skyscrapers amalgamated with its host of historical buildings. Here are a few snippets:
1) See the brick outline on the road? That’s an outline of where the Berlin wall used to stand, it runs all through the city!
2) Don’t the pedestrian traffic lights look cute with the hat? This used to be the east german traffic lights so you could tell when you were in the east and when you were in the west (“normal” w/o the hat). But now the its been intentionally mixed up so there’s no more division.
3) Bebelplatz Nazi book burning memorial. (underground empty book shelves)
After the tour, we walked around the jewish quarter and had a pleasant kosher lunch in a quiet courtyard of Beth’s café. The dishes were mostly meatless and some tasted rather similar to Indian food. There was also sauerkraut that had a faint wasabe taste!
Ended the day at scaling the Reichstag dome to get a splendid view. Note the Fernsehturm (TV tower and its soccer ball décor =P)
