2 more weeks to POP....
Ok, shall do my part since I have nothing to do now and my bkout about to end :S Basically once I go in its pia all the way... I guess more or less the same for the rest of u guys... SIT test, then immediately SOC test, then immediately guard duty (wah laoz....), then immediately range... then after that slacker days of 60:120, swimming and battle assault course... then admin admin admin just before the 24 click route march on the 3rd of march! I'll leopard crawl to the table to get my A level results if the flesh on my arms still can manage cos those plastered over my legs definitely wont.
But its the last lap! (not considering the rehearsals for POP) I think BMT has been a memorable experience no? Its like I was sitting on the MRT and this Singh walked in with another friend from the US i think... then he saw me in uniform and started talking abt his NS days to his foreign friend. Highly animated with all the vulgarities too despite the quizzical look of his listener.
Yup, so treasure your last 2 weeks or so though it may be tiring cos u might not see ur bunkmates that often despite seeing them 24/6 for the past 6 weeks.
Just crapping here, no real purpose. Hope to hear from the rest of u soon and see u all on the 4th of march. I think that's the date, yups.

SIT Test :)
hey pple... like our blog quite quiet...guess everyone is very busy with their stuff...
well...i just came back from SIT test...it is the first time i actually miss the outside world...a little...
yeap...just wanna tell the guys who havent had SIT test...how tired you will be, how much fun you will have and how much you will learn will be determined by the detail instructor that is in charge of you....and how helpful your detail mates are lor...
cos like the SIT test area is quite a small place la...the whole perimeter is only about 2km...and the stations are acutally next to each other...but everytime you move from station to station...you need to take an extra long detour...so it is quite sian lar...
but..if your sergeant is nice or something...they will let you walk shortcut across the field....but if you get a commander then most likely you will leopard crawl/baby crawl/arti drill/"casavak" all the way....
ya...but the stations are quite fun and interesting la...so go and enjoy yourself....:) :) whether it is slack or pia...it will have its advantages and disadvantages...:)
yea...and basically i was company i/c for the whole of SIT test...haha...some guy gave me the long service award...cos like i tio company i/c during field camp last 1.5 days...and then the whole of SIT test...some more in charge of OC's/recruits' nite...
quite fun lar...except i got people asking me to run around with only underwear and rifle...haha

field camp n funny stuff in the army...:)
shall contribute to the blog by posting something..
some of the stuff can only be fully appreciated by army boys
during foot drill one day, practising "lepreskan spering" (basically, it is part of a clearing arms drill, to check that your rifle is clear of any rounds, and u hav to press a button on the rifle to make the mechanism spring back, which creates a "shh..thang" sound)
so there was this platoon beside us practising...but cant get it rite...after a while the sergeant became pek chek and asked the pple who didnt do it right to say "i am the biggest cock" for 10 times...tt continued for sometime...
after a while...the whole platoon went "we are the biggest cock" for 10 times and we burst out laughing beside them...

the instructors were doing the OP/LP demo...and they taught us how to subdue the intruder...
after the usual, "halt or i will shoot! lie on your belly" things, the sergeants suddenly shouted, "prone roll in position ready!" and the subdued intruder began doing prone roll...

yeah..as the title suggest..the GOLDEN ROOSTER is here le!!..This yr will b a v different yr for all of us..cos we wont b mugging in school le(at least for the girls n PSC guys until june or so)..tts qt a big change esp after like 12 yrs of studying..so..the girls will b working n meeting guys..the guys will SAF(er there's no grammatical mistake here if u use my meaning of SAF) and meet even more guys!!..haha..hope tt everyone has a great and prosperous year ahead!!
There's this serious sore throat and flu disease going ard in T coy..everyone must take care arh..cny dun eat too much too much too much too much too much heaty food..jus eat alot can le..haha..we din bookout to be sick!!..We must enjoy our holiz wk!!..We must not slp!!..cos slp will make the day go v fast..haha..

Huang Cheng Ye Yun 2005 - ohwell..for most of us..we watched two yrs of huangcheng already..so here's the third yr!!..lol..basically the perf will go on for three dayz in March..17th(Thurs)..18th(Fri)..19th(Sat)..venue at victoria theatre..priced as usual at $10, $12, $15..peeps from grandjnr cls will b performing!!..Come n support them!!..
haha i dunno wad else to type le..hope u peeps get alot alot of angbaos..get alot alot of money..haha..supposedly my thurs n fri n sat n sun qt free..mahjong anyone?..

oops haven been reading this page for a v v long time.. not tt i busy or wad.. just forgetful =) anw yeah.. a happy new year to those reading this page now.. sorry ya I'm ponning e class gathering cos I'm in Malaysia now.. yar will only come back on Sun morn so I can't make it for e Sat lunch.. so guys enjoy your time there.. hopefully the turnout is good this time round =) hmmm i think e next time i can meet u guys would be when we get our results.. actually i can't wait to get my results cos like tt i dun need to be like still undecided abt my next step.. yeah think most of us r like tt lar.. right?

anw ya i'm facing a shortage of analogies for the following topics: ionic/metallic/covalent bonding.. i'm always using the same theme of gf/bf relationship.. for instance i say why ions w smaller ionic radii bond better is somewhat similar to the attraction between a guy being 3 steps away from a gal as compared to a guy HUGGING one.. yar so i think i'm over-relying on such analogies.. u can say tt i'm exploiting their weaknesses when they have been in tt monastery for 3 yrs or so =) pls contribute bright ideas.. ppl like pua can multi-task right - marching n thinking abt chem analogies right?? =D i confess i used racist analogies to explain y orbitals fill singly - the details i feel i should not go for the sake of racial harmony in sg =)

haha long time no post! hmms. perhaps cos havent been seeing many (or rather, any) of you at all. :( thats why im so looking forwardd to this CNY! :) hwachong's CNY celebs is on 8th feb tues, starting fr like 8:20 (e performances - regular stuffs inc. wushu, chinese dance, CO) then 9:20 street market! pls come! haha the grandjuniors wont recognise u so u wont be bugged (read: forced) to buy anything i think! anyway they'll be selling malt candy! :) haha still rmb our CNY? we sold pretty bland ice kacang haha :) jus a ball of ice basically. hahaha
yepps and then mass dance at abt 10:30! :D my fav part! hahaha
class gathering on 12 feb sat, 11am at bishan mrt station! we'll figure out what to eat i guess. maybe we can storm yang's house? hahaa. hope to meet many of you then!!! :)
have been a pretty happy girl. :) teaching's great fun! my students are as nice as we were! hahaha. v lively and talkative. i like. :) ladidums, and have been thinking of taking up extra lessons. lets see. violin? yoga? hahaha

Hello :)
I've sort of lost track of the date somewhat but I do know CNY coming soon :) [andy lau- hui jia de gan jue zhen hao] Well well, its been 1 month already. Hahz, kinda have a surreal feeling looking at the old photos posted online as well as our juniors STJ, grandjuniors' posts and stuff like that. Sort of used to the army life le ba despite still having one foot in the civilian world.(I cant imagine have both in the military world) Used to it so much that most of all we converse abt is NS.... cant blame us, we hardly read newspapers and our vocab has become horrendously limited.
Hmm, for those peeps who havent gone for fieldcamp yet.... let u in on some details ba.
1)You'll put on camou everyday (i.e.paint for face green and black)...
2)have lectures on file formations and responding to enemy fire. How to "attack"... leap and bound from tree to tree or flank the enemy.... interestingly, my campsites were a rubber plantation, an oil palm plantation and a place that was supposed to resemble reclaimed land. I wonder why they have such landscaping :)
3)you'll fire over a 100 blanks and grin as you try to comfort yourself as carbon slowly piles up in your bolt carrier groups with every shot. You'll spend 12hours digging shellscrapes and a shoulder height fire trench (bless you if it rains cos you'll be sleeping in a swimming pool)
4)Cover your ears as your section mates hurl vulgarities at you if you happen to be the enemy and they start their charge to overun the enemy. It can be quite amusing you see them charging for a while before everyone stops for IA.
5)You'll love combat rations :)
6)You'll love leopard crawl even more :) Oh, and there's this very fun Battle Innoculation Course where you're supposed to crawl under wire entanglements and stuff with GPMGs firing live round above you albeit 2m above or possibly higher. At the end you'll finally get to throw your dummy grenade and if you're lucky, you'll have the most hated instructor walk into the projectile of your grenade :) Then you duck and pretend nothing happened.
7)Instructors will stun your rifles at every chance. Better hug your wife when you sleep cos they unbuckle the straps too.... rifle straps....
On the brighter side, hope for a clear sky at the reclaimed land site because the stars are dazzling in the wide open sky as you try to fall asleep in your shellscrape.
Haha, and oh yes... footdrill is damn fun, esp when you got pple who look like their playing one eye peek-a-boo instead of saluting. And when pple march straight out of the line when they do their omat kekanan omats... or when pple start hentak kaki-ing on other pple's heels.
So that's my update. Very much like to hear all the interesting working/army experiences you all had yup. Dun think we can go back for any HCI event like CNY anytime soon. Probably the next time will be when we collect our A level results. Maybe then we could take the 3rd photo on those steps outside our old class bench to complete our Hwa Chong journey.
Hard to say whether I'd prefer to still be a student, too much into the new phase I guess.

tdy i jus booked out..yest had my ippt cat test..as usual i fail almost everything..sure kana extra training one..nvm i'll work hard..but it makes me really wonder v much zuo mo suddenly yesterday got 19 peeps from my platoon(43peeps) attend B..hmm..this number had nv dropped below two digits since outfield on thurs..haha..
anyway..i think im qt fortunate in this platoon..i must b honest tt me n all the other ncc guys in my platoon all agree tt our days now r much betta than the ncc training days..n much betta than the days we giv to our men..
anyway..i got 2 rjc peeps..2 vjc peeps..erm..actually all 4 from ri..harhar..then 2 tpjc..1 ajc..then some other jcs..polys..ites..1 shatec..1 go study aust uni med finish yr 1 come baq..a few more who studied in aust..sec sch..pri sch..meaning they nv further their studies lah..alot got angkongs everywhere on their body..then one got wife n child liao..on the whole v fun..morale v high..everyday is bangla nite..haha..n i suffered half a blanket party..cos my section peeps too tired after outfield..then i kept low profile..so the rest of my platoon din come n kajiao me..harhar..:)
