Regarding Night Cycling 130506
.. after much procrastination on my part and much prodding on Wy's part, I've finally decided to come up with the rough idea of the cycling route. I attempted to trace the route using Street Directory, but gave up due to sheer laziness. So I took the easiest way out, which is to google it! Anyways, I decided that we should go on a route that's tried and tested (cause I v lazy to go past the first page of the Google results).. and it is (v roughly)...

Quoted from the site: "We followed East Coast Park cycling track and came out to Fort Rd and Tanjong Rhu Rd. From there we crossed the Geylang River and enter Kallang Stadium complex. We then passed Merdeka Bridge and cycled through Marine Promenade. We stopped in the Promenade for a while to enjoy the breadth-taking view of Singapore River adorned with many lights from the buildings nearby. We then passed Esplanade to enter City area. At this time, the rain started to get heavy again. We took a break in National Library to straightened up our muscles and to have some snacks. Afterwards, we pass through Orchard Rd. Here, we enjoyed a very different experience of the road as compared to the Orchard Rd that are always very crowded throughout the day. In this wee hours, we can leisurely cycle in the pedestrian unobstructed. Leaving Orchard Rd, the next destination was Newton Circle hawker center. Needless to say, we treated ourselves to a much-needed supper to rejuvenate our body. Afterward, we forged ahead back to East Coast Park through Serangoon Rd without stopping."
This route is certified by NTU! It's 27 km.
Now, being the big-picture planner I am, I don't bother myself with insignificant details such as the small small roads and gangways that we can cycle through or the road names to get from 1 place to another, this kind of thing I'll just leave it to 小角色 like the Street Directory book and Willy.. hahaha
So the tentative meeting time on Sat night is 7 - 11pm at the McDonald's sumwhere in East Coast, depending on the closing time of the bicycle kiosk.. which is pretty confusing to me right now: Beach Cabana East Coast Park Area C (5 minutes walk from McDonald’s) Tel: (65) 6344 4773 Opening Hours: 24 hours daily Bicycle & Skate Rental: 9am - 8pm (Mon - Fri), 8am - 8pm (Sat, Sun, Public Holidays & School Holidays)

The Beach Cabana (just beside the Warming Up Area) is where we going to rent the bikes I guess.. Now I'm assuming that someone knows how to get to the area shown above, I oni can vaguely rem the Mcdonald's, but I have faith in you guys :)
So if anybody have any other suggestions, please tag it! anybody have any idea when the kiosk closes, please tag it! Err.. I'll be bringing along the Street Directory book, unless someone can step up and say confidently that he's not going to bring us hor lan.. however, even with the book I cant safely guarantee my topographic accuracy, so.... I hope all the participants have an adventurous spirit :) ......... and good self-control..

recently..bcos i am moving out of hall..i am spending more time travelling on public transport = more time to let my mind wander when i am bored reading magazines, research notes, newspaper etc..

1) would u treat a woman for infertility if u knew she was a mistress of someone else? (apparently my dad has helped many of these women.........)
2) if a friend and a complete stranger gets admitted to a&e at the same time and both of them require immediate medical attention if not they wld have danger of losing their life..which one wld u save first? if you save ur friend first...is it wrong?

sorry for the hiatus
hello..
i havent posted in a long time..been busy with a lot of stuff recently..
recently our medsoc pres has attempted to lead a revolution to the medical education in NUS. i think as m1s we cannot fully understand the kind of agony that our seniors are experiencing/had experienced...
but recently..i started on my "undergraduate research opportunities" (UROP) programme and i can somewhat understand how our medsoc pres feels
besides having to grapple with all the new equipment, the principles behind each step of the procedures and mastering opening doors with my elbows...i think the most difficult thing tt i need to learn is...WHERE EACH PIECE OF EQUIPMENT is kept
a simple experiment that can be done in 2 hr plus is dragged to 4 hrs plus because i had to ransack the entire storeroom to find ONE small little stick of cell scraper...or ONE small puny syringe...
and to make things worse..i seldom see my prof...my lab has 3 lab technicians/assistants...but all 3 of them are SUPER DUPER busy...so if i asked them where each thing is kept...they would jus point in the general direction/group of drawers...
i guess it sort of fits how med edu is during clinical yrs as well la...the consultants and registrars are super duper busy and usu invisible...the MOs are super duper busy also...so i guess i can begin to feel how frustrating it is to be at the corner of an operating theatre and the MO bo hiu u...even though u are like asking questions and trying to learn...yet at the same time..u cant really blame them cos they are really super duper busy....
sighhh
ps yang: jia jing wen is still more chio than that whoever whoever pps i want my night cycling
