03S78. HCJC.

27 of us make up the lovely class of 03S78 :)

it was a year and 6 mths ago that we graduated from hwachong, nothing much has
changed since then - we still have the good old class outings when we spend most
of the time walking around (+ extended one in europe recently), we still play
mahjong, watch movies, go æçå¦! together (at nwxiang's request of course)..

to many more years of friendship!

comparison of colleges - bun vs me

since a certain someone has been clamouring for news abroad, lemme just post sth abt bun's and my college =) for the uninitiated, i'm in magdalene (pronounced mawd-lyn) while bun's in st johns (usually called johns, not to be confused with long johns =D )

so let's list the numerous factors...

johns: freaking rich.. how else can u explain the fact that they dun need to pay to use the washing machine?
magd: very very poor.. and washing a load of clothes cost 1.20 pounds >.<

size
johns: freaking big.. walking to bun's room takes abt 10 mins from e college gate.. it's e second largest college in cam
magd: small.. my room is 2 mins walk from my college gate

college gate
johns: 3 in all (i think), and the metal gates all have intricate designs, which are nice to look at
magd: 2 wooden doors.. some ppl may walk past my college without knowing that there's a college inside

history
johns: founded 1511
magd: founded 1428 by monks who try to distance themselves from the temptations of town.. explains why i dun go pubbing that often right =)

student population
johns: pretty large.. 800+
magd: small.. 500+

scenery
johns: contains numerous expanse of green grass.. too much land probably =)
magd: adjacent to river cam.. i can hear ducks squawking occassionally =D

room amenities
bun's: no fridge, pretty big room, power sockets do not have on-off switches (they're always on), shares toilet w a number of pple, has washbasin, carpeted
mine: has a fridge, pretty small room, shares toilet w only a neighbour, has washbasin, and my carpet is less thick than my towel is..

fyi: johns is the nearest college to magd, but not e other way round - trinity is just beside johns, and trinity happens to be the biggest college (i think) and the richest (definitely) of all colleges.. shall not go into discourse abt trinity.. it's enough to make any person envious of that place..
